A Lifetime Ago Tutorial

Open up all the materials and place them in the right places. Font to fonts, gradient to gradients,
images to psp file and so on. This tutorial was written for PSP 9.

1. Open a transparent image 640 x 480.

2. Go into your material properties and bring up the materials palette.

3. Foreground color #196572 or choose your own

4. Background color #202020 or choose your own

5. Materials Palette - make a gradient with your two colors - Settings - Angle - 45, Repeats - 0,
Style - Linear. Invert - unchecked

6. Flood fill your transparent image with your gradient color.

7. Layers - New Raster Layer

8. Activate paint brush tool - bg text 6 and stamp 4 times. settings - Size - 500, step - 1, density - 100,
rotation - 0 - opacity - 80, blend - normal. color - #202020

9. Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow - Settings - Vertical - 1, Horizontal - 1, Opacity - 100, Blur - 1,
Color - Black

10. Effects - Edge Effects - Enhance.

11. Materials Palette - Opacity - 60.

12. Open image 1 - silke - a lifetime ago. Edit. copy and paste into selection. Blend
Mode - Normal - Opacity - 80. Move to the left side of the background centered between the
top and bottom.

13. Open image 2 - sbg - a lifetime ago. Edit. copy and paste into selection. Blend
Mode - Normal - Opacity - 100. Move to the right side of the background centered up towards
the top corner.

14. Open image 3 - angie - a lifetime ago. Edit. copy and paste into selection. Blend
Mode - Screen - Opacity - 70. Move to the right side of the background centered up towards
the top corner and put into the doorway.

15. Layers - Duplicate Layer of image 3 - Blend Mode - Luminance (Legacy) - Opacity - 70.

16. Open image 4 - silke - a lifetime ago. Edit. copy and paste into selection. Blend
Mode - Normal - Opacity - 100. Move to the left side and just under the window on the bottom
of the background.

17. Open image 5 or 6 - mario - a lifetime ago. Edit. copy and paste into selection. Blend
Mode - Multiply - Opacity - 50. Move into the window.

18. Layers - Duplicate Layer of image 5 or 6 - Blend Mode - Luminance (Legacy) - Opacity - 50.

19. Open image 7 - suzi - a lifetime ago. Edit. copy and paste into selection. Blend
Mode - Multiply - Opacity - 100. Move to the left side of the window and up near the top.

20. Layers - Duplicate Layer of image 7 - Blend Mode - Luminance (Legacy) - Opacity - 100.

21. Materials Palette - Move image 7 - suzi under image 2 - sbg

22. Freehand tool - Settings - Selection - Freehand, Mode - Add, Feather - 14, Smoothing - 10
anti alias - checked.

23. Materials Palette - Highlight image 2 - sbg. use the freehand tool to expose the face of image
7 - suzi. When you are happy with your result hit delete once.

24. Layers - New Raster Layer

25. Foreground color #196572 or choose your own

26. Background color #202020 or choose your own

27. Materials Palette - make a gradient with your two colors - Settings - Angle - 45, Repeats - 0,
Style - Linear. Invert - unchecked

28.. Flood fill your transparent image with your gradient color.

29. Effects - Jeaux de Lignes - Entrelacement

30. Materials Palette - Highlight new raster layer flood filled with gradient. Blend Mode - Normal
Opacity- 20.

31. Layers - New Raster Layer

32. Foreground color #196572 or choose your own

33. Background color #202020 or choose your own

34. Materials Palette - make a gradient with your two colors - Settings - Angle - 45, Repeats - 0,
Style - Linear. Invert - unchecked

35.. Flood fill your transparent image with your gradient color.

36. Materials Palette - Highlight new raster layer flood filled with gradient. Blend Mode - Soft Light
Opacity- 60.

37. Open image 8 - sbg text - a lifetime ago. Edit. copy and paste into selection. Blend
Mode - Normal - Opacity - 100. Move to the center of the background just below the door and
above the child.

38. Open image 9 - suzi - a lifetime ago. Edit. copy and paste into selection. Blend
Mode - Normal - Opacity - 80. Move to the center of the background just below the door and
above the child.

39. Materials Palette - Move image 9 - suzi down your materials palette until it is under image
4 silke.

40. Layers - Merge All Flat

41. Effects - Mura's Seamless - Shadow - Settings - Offset X - 132, Offset Y - 132, Color R - 0,
Color G - 0, Color B - 0, Effects - 255.

42. Effects - Xero - Seasons - Settings - Red Cut/Boost - 0, Green Cut/Boost - 5, Blue Cut/Boost - 5,
Effect Strength - 255.

43. Effects - Xero - Mistifier - Settings - Haziness - 128, Strength - 128, Red Mist - 255,
Green Mist - 255 - Blue Mist - 255

44. Layers - Duplicate Layer

45. Effects - 3D Effects - Cutout - Settings - Vertical - 35, Horizontal - 35, Shadow Color - black, Opacity - 75,
Blur - 100.

46. Effects - 3D Effects - Cutout - Settings - Vertical - -35 (minus 35), Horizontal - -35 (minus 35) , Shadow
Color - black, Opacity - 75, Blur - 100.

47. Layers - Merge all flat

48. Image - Add Border - 2 pixels. Flood - fill with sbg gold pattern sample or color of your choice.

49. Adjust - Sharpness - Sharpen. Selections - Deselect.

50. Image - Add Border - 6 pixels. Select with Magic wand.

51. Foreground color #196572 or choose your own

52. Background color #202020 or choose your own

53. Materials Palette - make a gradient with your two colors - Settings - Angle - 45, Repeats - 0,
Style - Linear. Invert - unchecked

54. Flood fill your selected border with your gradient color.

55. Effects - Jeaux de Lignes - Entrelacement

56. Adjust - Sharpness - Sharpen.

57. Effects - 3D Effects - Inner Bevel - Settings - Bevel - Straight (1), Width - 20, Smoothness - 2, Depth - 2,
Ambience - 8, Shininess - 18, Color - white, Angle - 315, Intensity - 37, Elevation - 37.

58. Selections - Select None.

59. Image - Add Border - 2 pixels. Flood - fill with sbg gold pattern sample or color of your choice.

60. Adjust - Sharpness - Sharpen. Selections - Deselect.

61. Image - Add Border - 30 pixels. Select border with magic wand. Edit - copy and paste into the selection
with sbg border pattern - a lifetime ago

62. Adjust - Sharpness - Sharpen.

63. Effects - 3D Effects - Inner Bevel - Settings - Bevel - Edge (3), Width - 8, Smoothness - 0, Depth - 4,
Ambience - -30, Shininess - 0, Color - white, Angle - 315, Intensity - 50, Elevation - 50

64. Selections - Select None.

65. Image - Add Border - 2 pixels. Flood - fill with sbg gold pattern sample or color of your choice.

66. Adjust - Sharpness - Sharpen. Selections - Deselect.

67. Image - Add Border - 6 pixels. Select with Magic wand.

68. Foreground color #196572 or choose your own

69. Background color #202020 or choose your own

70. Materials Palette - make a gradient with your two colors - Settings - Angle - 45, Repeats - 0,
Style - Linear. Invert - unchecked

71. Flood fill your selected border with your gradient color.

72. Effects - Jeaux de Lignes - Entrelacement

73. Adjust - Sharpness - Sharpen.

74. Effects - 3D Effects - Inner Bevel - Settings - Bevel - Straight (1), Width - 20, Smoothness - 2, Depth - 2,
Ambience - 8, Shininess - 18, Color - white, Angle - 315, Intensity - 37, Elevation - 37.

75. Selections - Select None.

76. Image - Add Border - 2 pixels. Flood - fill with sbg gold pattern sample or color of your choice.

77. Adjust - Sharpness - Sharpen. Selections - Deselect.

78. Text Tool - Settings - Create as - vector, Direction - up and down, Font - Times New Roman, Size - 12,
Stroke width - 0, Font Style - Bold/Italic, Alignment - center, Anti-alias - sharp, Line style - solid. Type in your
name or initials.

79. Layers Palette - Select Vector layer and click on the plus sign in front of it. Click on the text and right
click your mouse. A menu will open up. Scroll up to properties and click on it. Stroke should be checked
and the little box should have your gold pattern in it. Fill should also be checked and should have your
black background color in it. Stroke width should be 1 and the line style should be solid. Visible
should be checked. Anti-alias should be checked. Once all these are correct click okay.

80. Layer Palette - Highlight your vector layer, right click on your mouse and convert to raster layer.

81. Effects - 3D effects - drop shadow - settings: vertical 1 - horizontal 1 -
opacity 50 - blur 5 - color black. Adjust - Sharpness - Sharpen

82. Layers - Duplicate Layer.

83. As an alternative you may use your watermark.

84. Layers - Merge all flat

85. If you are satisfied with your image then you are finished.

86. You are now all done and I hope you enjoyed this tut.
