Rockwell Medical Centre - basement level back view Level One: (bottom) Consisting of: additional departments: Radiology, Laboratory, Pharmacy Also: appropriate waiting areas; storage areas; maintenance & equipment rooms; temporary records storage (in each department); a changing area (for radiology); and restrooms, room for sterilization of instruments Radiology: -1 x-ray machine with the ability to accommodate different views and types of tests, even barium studies. -1 ultrasound machine for general purpose -staffed by: 1 x-ray technician, 1 sonographer, and 1 on-call radiologist Laboratory: -collection & storage capabilities for most specimens, even biohazardous -processing almost all sample on-site -1 bed for bleed times or tests that could lead to fainting -staffed by: 2 laboratory technicians (collect & process samples), and 1 on-call pathologist (study more complex specimens, taps & biopsies done on-site) Pharmacy: -out-patient pharmacy and sundries store. -can be opened after-hours or off days as needed -staffed by: 2 pharmacy technicians, and 1 on-call pharmacist

Rockwell Medical Centre - first floor back view Level Two: (main) Consisting of: the general practice Also: large waiting area with children’s area; closet space for hanging coats etc; storage, maintenance, and equipment rooms; appropriate restrooms; area for reception, administration, and active records storage; room for sterilization of instruments; parking is outdoor Note: clinic can accommodate after-hours patients, and is willing to allow for a limited number of walk-in patients Twelve Rooms: -10 patient examination rooms: for general use -1 procedures room: for use during procedures (EKG, spinal tap, biopsy etc) -1 treatment room: for use during emergency situations (equipped for stabilization of patients), has private entrance to allow for easy transfer to ambulance. -last 2 rooms are segregated from the rest of the clinic (via walls) to allow for noise control, and non-contamination Staffing: -6 general practitioners (GPs), some having accreditation in additional areas (such as anaesthesiology, surgery etc) -5 nurses including: 1 registered nurse (RN), 1 nurse practitioner (NP), and 2 licensed practical nurses (LPNs)

Rockwell Medical Centre - second floor back view Level Three: (upper) Consists of: specialized clinics: Obstetrics/Gynaecology (OBGyn), Paediatrics (Peds), Surgery, and Mental Health Also: appropriate waiting areas (for each clinic); restrooms (for each clinic, except mental health which uses the one in the hall; reception and temporary records areas (in each clinic); storage, maintenance & equipment rooms; room for sterilization of instruments Obstetrics & Gynaecology (OBGyn): -providing gynaecological care (small %), and obstetrical care (majority) to patients on a referral from the main clinic -2 exam rooms, and 1 procedure/ treatment room -staffed by: 2 obstetrician/gynaecologists, and rotational nurses Paediatrics: -providing general care (small %), and specialized care to children ages 1 to 17 years, for in-house patient families (to ensure continuum of care with the main clinic); or in an urgent situation -2 exam rooms, and 1 procedure/treatment room -staffed by: 2 paediatricians, and rotational nurses Surgery: -providing care to patients referred from the main clinic, for surgical treatment or consultation -can accommodate simply procedures (cyst removal, vasectomy etc), while surgery done at the hospital -2 exam rooms, and 1 procedure/treatment room -staffed by: 2 general surgeons, and rotational nurses Note: rotational nurses refer to the 5 nurses for the floor (1 RN, 1 NP, and 2 LPNs), who have additional training and accreditation in the floor’s areas of specialty. They go where they are need, though ensuring never to leave the OBGyn, Peds, and Surgery clinics unattended. Also: available to these clinics is an ultrasound machine, staffed by a sonographer. It is kept in the OBGyn. clinic, but is mobile and can go to peds. & surg. as it is needed. Mental Health: -providing psychological care to patients as referred to them by the main clinic, also able to deal with psychiatric emergencies occurring on-site -able to aid main clinic physicians in the continuum of care for patient who have psychological disorders; grief counselling and coping skills for patients receiving bad news about their condition; crisis intervention for things like unwanted pregnancy; and dealing with finding root causes for hypochondriac patients. -2 comfortable rooms with examination equipment that can be utilized when needed; relaxed atmosphere, and comfortable furniture -staffed by: 1 clinical psychologist with advanced training and accreditation (allowing them to prescribe and give medications), 1 mental health counsellor, and 1 on-call psychiatrist
